Ron has helped establish many colonies and has contributed many innovative ideas to attracting and preserving of these birds. Ron was also PMCA landlord of the year in 1999! Here an ASY male is perched on Ron's 7 compartment wooden house. Ron is a big advocate of smaller housing with large rooms to reduce the amount of time needed for nest inspections per house. Here Ron shows a nest drawer from one of the houses he designed. Ron has designed and built all the housing as well as the lift systems for his site. Here Ron demonstrates proper nest inspections at Minnesota Martinfest 2006. This is a model of Ron's Parallelogram Pivot post system. This design requires very little time and effort to raise and lower housing. Here is one of his most successful designs, the 4 compartment house.
